The Latest Pro Sound News has a great article on the Social Marketing Phenom.....Ill be writing more as time goes by but the Work is out there for those willing to Network and become salesmen, My dad used to spend three weeks a month on the road selling Caterpillar parts, so I guess I have some natural ability to reach out and talk to people and again network your business. The economy is tired and needs a boost and if your gonna compete in todays market then you have to get out on the road and sell, even if it means leaving freinds and family and comfy surroundings. Sound and Production crews travel many miles and bring events to us in every kind of weather, well here in the Midwest its dar not, but the Music and gear is still cool....Have a great Summer, God Bless

Ive just returned from Nashville where I took 3 days of YCATS Training from Yamaha, Digital Sound Reinforcement training, PM5D, MC7L and other Digital products from Yamaha, Shure and Nexo. Nexo is a Speaker and Amp manufacturer who has taken the Industry by storm now that they are Allied with Yamaha they are really bring forth some Awesome product, Listening Tests were done and its some Killer gear.

Shure Presented there Whitespaces program and many issues were discussed, The Entire Wireless issue is still very much in the air. I have always urged anyone whose using Wireless to Write the FCC, Your Congressional representatives and express your feelings that Wireless Mics are very important to our Industry as a whole. The guys at Shure have been doing lots of research and there are new tools on there website to help you find and scan for Available channels, Find TV broadcasters and where they are broadcasting. The Wireless program was very interesting and Even though I dont own many Shure Mics I found great information there on the Website.

Yamaha's Digital consoles are pretty much an Industry wide accepted console, The PM5D Platform is really nice and layed out very well, Its an ongoing thing with updates, Changes in Functionality and usgae, We spent quite a few Hours going over the way these work, Networking, Cobranet, Ethernet, and basically Computer Networking the Product. If you dont believe that Audio is becoming an IT item and you havent studied any of this I urge you to get into these classes. It was well presented, Easy to Understand and the Presenters did a great job of Teaching, Answering the Million DUMB questions and making sure WE got a grip on the basics, applications and use.

Im very interested in the Entire IT thing and Ive been reading and studying lots of Cobranet/Ethernet/IT uses and applications and that helped me understand all the product better, If you want more Info go to Yamahaproaudio.com and check out the programs and gear. The new Sound System Simulator Y-S3 program is really cool and works with many factorys products.

Our Picture will be on the YCATS blog space and I came away with the Certificate that I wanted, Ive put lots of Emphasis this year on getting more training, Online and at Local Colleges and trying to learn and apply this new IT skillset.

Lots of stuff happeneing and we had a nice dinner with One of John Cougars Bandmates and a couple Guys from Little River Band and other PA companies down in Nashville, When and if you get down there I recommend LA PAZ Mexican restaurant for healthy servings and great Mararitas. It was a welcome break from the COMPUTER classes for three days. Thanks to Yamaha, Nexo and Shure for doing a great seminar series.

Ive watched a couple Webinars lately from Creative Stage Lighting of which we are a dealer for all of there Rigging, Power, Theatrical and Lighting products. Richard Cadena and other folks have come together to explain the basics and not so basics of Lighting and Im glad they did these. Many Houses of Worship are "In the Dark" about these things and people go out to Guitar Center, Buy some Lighting and expect the Stage to be clear and Video to work flawlessly, NOT SO !!!!

Thanks to the Staff @ Creative Stage Lighting and Richard Cadena for the Webinars, they were great !!

Video requires that you adhere to certain Luminance levels referred to as LUX or FOOT CANDLES to make Subjects, Faces, and Stage look real through the Video camera's unyielding eye, get this wrong and it not only looks bad but images can be shifted, the meaning can be blurred, Video requires good quality lighting and Video gear is expensive, Your Lighting needs to be up to PAR. The Use of Color media and Proper Fixtures, Lamps and Bulbs, Focus and Position is of utmost importance for your HOW.

We can Design and Implement complete Lighting systems for Stage, Theatre, Houses of Worship and any need for professional level of Lighting, Including Rigging, and Electrical needs which go hand in hand. You cant take 30 Fixtures and expect to plug them in to wall outlets, you need to consider the total electrical needs, and then the effect that thirty 1000 watt lamps can have on HVAC systems as well. This is an example but Ive seen this done in Churches and Extension cords all over, Different brands of dimmers etc hanging from overhead pipe on unapproved rigging hardware.

We are Kramer, Extron, TV-ONE, BlackBox and Clark Wire dealers, Panasonic, Peerless, Navitar, DALITE, Harkness Hall and HP PC Dealers, we Design, Configure, Install and Train your staff on all aspects of the Video system and we can offer additional factory training classes.

We are also full line Lighting, Rigging and Power systems dealers through Creative Stage Lighting, and most major brands of Entertainment Lighting.

If we can help with any needs for Audio, Intercom, Background Music, XM Radio, PA systems, Wireless Mics, Mixers, DSP Training, Lighting, Video, Power Distribution for Portable needs, Generators, and many other items, Give us a call and well be glad to answer your questions.

We gladly Crossrent to other Versarray users and rental companies at Discounted rates !!!

Hello,
I havent been here for a while, I chose to take some Personal time and reflect on the past, My Mom is getting older and I wanted to spend some quality time with her so we went south and visited relatives in the Old South. Now that Im back working on advancing events and prospecting for new ones Ive found the road a little tougher, Budgets are TIGHT, Folks are scared to spend a dime for fear of beian accused of sponsoring frivolous events, Business has tightened its belts, and the A/V Industry is holding its collective breath.

Ive been working on our case company and weve had a few issues, Our lead case builder moved away about a week into the Opening, He got a great offer and I cant blame anyone who can advance there selves, but it left us looking for a good carpenter or two. Were drawing plans and working on designs and weve taken a few short orders for Drum trunks, Cable trunks etc, also weve built a few Guitar Cabinet cases for Orange and Fender.

Were working hard on building a quality product and we didnt want to rush things so were getting things up and off to market and were going to be having a few demo pieces out in local music stores in St Louis and Nashville, and possibly Chicago.

Pearl Productions is going through a name Change and will be soon called Pearl Pro Audio, were getting more and more offers for Concert audio with our new Versarrays Line Arrays and weve also teamed up with Kurt Jeske of Sound 1 Productions in Wisconsin and well be providing systems to the Oshkosh Irish Festival this May. Also the Inaugural event at the New Alton Amphitheatre will feature the Miles Davis Jazz Festival May 16th and well be providing Production for that event. Both Sound 1 and ourselves use the Versarrays VR 112/ VR 218 speaker systems and combined we can provide a 10 VR 112's Left and Right and 8 VR 218's plus a pair of QW 218s for Aux Sub mixes.

Ive got super deals on the Galaxy In Ear monitors systems and the MIPRO MI 808 which is a TRUE stereo in Ear monitor system, also the MIPRO wireless microphones, if your updating your systems contact me for free demo's on either system during the month of March.

I hope all of you are weathering this economic storm right now and take care of each other, Pray for our leaders and our country and we hope that soon this will all be a bad memory, Take care and God Bless.
